BIO

Originally from Worcester, MA, Joe studied theatre, film, and writing at Syracuse University, and went on to work as an actor in Boston for 8 years, performing in theatre, independent films, commercials, voice-overs and other assorted acting work, including his one-man show Gonzo Night School.  He began writing and recording IPR : Irrational Public Radio, a public radio parody program.  After a brief stint in NYC, he moved to LA, where he continues to work as an actor, writer, and voice-over talent, including producing his one-man show Joe Smith Tells You How to Live Your Life.  He has written and performed stories and comic personal essays for various LA-area reading series including Sit n' Spin, Show and Tell, Word-a-Rama, and The Spark.   His true story PornoMime appears on the webzine Fresh Yarn, an "online salon for personal essays."   To be kept abreast of his projects/performances, click here for info on the mailing list.
